AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- An incident report identifies 25-year-old Shane Brock as the victim in a shooting on 3rd and Broad Street Saturday night.
Levi Frank Jr., 29, is suspected of shooting Brock in the face outside of an apartment complex.
Richmond County deputies responded to the shooting on 3rd and Broad Street just before 9 p.m. Saturday night.
The response came after a deputy reported hearing a possible gun shot while conducting a traffic stop on Broad St. and then saw the victim running toward him.
Neighbors said that they heard gun shots, then 15 minutes later police cars lit up their street.
One neighbor says he saw three men running. Two men went to the left and another to the right toward Broad Street.
Franklin Walker has lived on that street for 30 years and he said most people who live on that street are retired and it's pretty quiet.
Walker said he saw about 15 Richmond County deputies on scene, and in the apartment building right across the street from his home.
He said it's a close knit community so he was a little shocked that there was a shooting.
"That's something we usually don't have around here and when you hear something you just hope that nobody gets hurt," Walker said.
Walker said the quick police response and the major police presence helps him to feel safe.
"We have a constant control here with the police, and they're in here probably 3, 4 or 5 times a day, and I love to see them," Walker said.
