Murder investigation underway in Barnwell

BARNWELL, S.C. (WRDW) -- A shooting that happened in June is now being investigated as a murder after the victim died days later in the hospital.

According to Sheriff Ed Carroll, Johnny Mixon, 49, of Barnwell died on July 10 at Georgia Regents Medical Center.

The sheriff says Mixon was shot a party at a home on Quail Road on June 28. The shooting was connected to old arguments between the men that came to head at the party.

The sheriff's office has issued a warrant for the arrest of Johnnie Glover of Blythewood, S.C. Glover is wanted for murder and the possession of a gun in the commission of a crime.
