AUGUSTA, Ga. -- News 12 is on your side with the road closures scheduled for this week so you can plan your commute accordingly.
Starting Tuesday, the two northbound right lanes of Jimmy Dyess Parkway between Powell Road and Interstate 20 will be closed while the bridge is repaired. Traffic will be merged to the inside lane instead. The project could take up to 45 days.
Crews will be mowing the following areas between Tuesday and Friday: State Route 10 (mile markers 0 to 7), State Route 56, and State Route 56 Spur. The shoulder of Bobby Jones Expressway (mile markers 15 to 16) will also be closed. This work will happen between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
On Wednesday, the 6th Street CSX railroad crossing between Fenwick and Taylor streets will be closed between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. while crews repair the tracks.
The westbound right lane of Riverwatch Parkway close to Rivershoals Drive will be closed on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. while crews replace a guardrail section.
Turknett Spring Road at Hiram Road will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday while crews remove a tree. No through traffic will be permitted.
Berckmans Road at Heath Drive will be closed from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday while a tree is removed.
