AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A settlement agreement was reached in May after a parent was being banned from her child's elementary school for a Facebook picture of her Georgia Weapons Carry License.
Tanya Mount said she'll receive $1,000 and an undisclosed amount for legal expenses.
In October of 2013, Mount was given a criminal trespass warning and said the police told her the principal was afraid of her. They asked if she was in the Army and if she had a concealed weapons permit, she said. Mount replied yes to both questions.
Mount said she never had any problems with Principal Janina Dallas, but she was blind-sided weeks earlier during a meeting with Dallas.
"It is not a personal attack on her and it has absolutely nothing to do with her Georgia license," Dallas said in November. Although, Dallas told another media outlet last year that the warning was issued because of the online picture.
