Mother arrested for marijuana while kids in the backseat

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Richmond County deputies arrested Nicole Slappy after finding a bag of marijuana in her car and unrestrained children in the backseat.

Officers say they pulled her over because she had a dark tint on her car windows. A report says the deputies immediately smelled marijuana coming from the car.

A search of the car revealed a plastic bag containing 447 grams of marijuana. Deputies say they found it under a blouse on the rear passenger side floor board.

Officers also noticed her two kids in the backseat, both who were unrestrained.

Slappy has been booked into the Charles B. Webster Detention Center for POssession of Marijuana with the intent to distribute, window tint violation, and 2 counts of unrestrained child.
