NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW) -- More than 1,000 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs were dropped off in the CSRA as a part of this year's National Drug Take Back Day.

Last October, Americans turned over 324 tons of prescription drugs.

Confirmed by each department:

  • North Augusta Department of Public Safety: 505 pounds collected
  • Aiken Department of Public Safety: 320 pounds collected
  • Richmond County Sheriff's Office: 285 pounds collected
