AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. -- The lockdown at Millbrook Elementary in Aiken County has now been lifted.
Tammie Newman, public information officer for Aiken County Public Schools, says a home domestic violence issue involving a school employee "traveled onto the school campus."
Cpt. Troy Elwell says the dispute started last night and the male involved showed up at the school Thursday morning. He allegedly tried to get access to the woman inside the school.
School officials say no students were involved in the incident or saw it.
A law enforcement officer is in place at the school as a precaution. The officer will also be on school property on Friday.
