AUGUSTA, Ga. -- A head-on collision shut down part of Mike Padgett Highway and sent three to the hospital Wednesday morning.

Officials say a pickup truck flipped over on the 3000 block of Mike Padgett around 8:15 a.m. The truck was driving northbound on Mike Padgett when a blue car traveling southbound crossed the center line and hit the truck head on. The truck flipped three times, landing upside down. The car spun out as well.

Two people in the car were transported to GHSU with minor injuries. The man in the truck was also taken to GHSU. His injuries are not said to be life threatening.

Both southbound lanes have reopened.
