UPDATE: Medac Inc. facilities open following lockdown

Augusta, Ga (WRDW) ---- News 12 has learned that Medac Inc. facilities are back open following a lockdown Tuesday afternoon.

The Richmond County Sheriff's office says a husband and wife had an argument over the phone and that's when the wife say he allegedly threaten to shoot her and employees at the facility.

Deputies were called out and put the company on lockdown for about an hour and a half.

Authorities were also able to track down the husband and speak to him and found out he has mental issues.

He was transported to GRU for a mental evaluation.

No arrests have been made.


AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) ---A manager at Medac Inc., a healthcare service company, says the building on Scott Nixon Memorial Dr. was put on lockdown after an employee's husband made a threat.

The manager says the man got upset about something and said he was going to come back to the business and kill his wife and all the other employees.

He says he's not at the business now, but all three buildings in the complex were put on lockdown as a precaution. Richmond County deputies are at the scene.
