AUGUSTA, Ga. – Big news for thousands of golf fans around the world: More people could see Augusta National in person next year.

The news hit the internet with a simple, yet stunning news release headline: "Ticket Applications Available at Masters.com." And not just for the practice rounds. They're offering Tournament badges too.

Brad Lich and his family, from Johnson City, Tennessee, were among the first people on the course to hear the news.

"Oh wow!" Brad said.

"What do you think about having the chance to get Tournament badges?" we asked.

"I think it's excellent," Brad said.

"How soon will you [sign up for the lottery]?"

"As soon as we can get out of here and go online."

It's the first time since 2000 that anyone has had a shot at getting a Tournament badge. The online registration is also the new way to apply for the 2012 practice rounds.

Brad knows all about playing the waiting game.

"We're just excited to be here," he said. "I've been playing the lottery. This is the first time we've actually won."

You can request four tickets for any one day of practice rounds: Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. You can request two tickets for any one day of Tournament play, Thursday through Sunday. Again, this is a one-day deal.

It's all done online through random selection, and you'll get the good news by email.

This is very big news out of Augusta National--and it's only Monday!
