AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A man from Massachusetts had pleaded guilty to charges of receiving child pornography and transferring obscene material to a person under the age of 16.
Christopher Ceolinski, 38, is awaiting sentencing and is facing a mandatory minimum of five years behind bars and a maximum sentence of 30 years.
Ceolinski allegedly posed as a 20-year-old and sent a friend request to a 15-year-old girl who lived in Lincolnton, Ga., in July 2011. The girl accepted the friend request, and the two began communicating. A month later, Ceolinski started sending obscene images of himself to the girl through the Internet and messaging systems, according to the news release.
According to evidence presented in court, Ceolinski later sent an iPod Touch to the girl so she could send sexually explicit images of herself to him. Ceolinski allegedly came to Georgia to meet with the girl.
The girl's mother found out about their communications and contacted law enforcement.
The federal complaint was filed in Augusta, and Ceolinski was arrested in Massachusetts. Authorities say Ceolinski told FBI agents details about his relationship with the girl, which is when he was detained and transferred to Georgia.
