NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. -- One person was taken to the hospital after an accident on West Martintown Road near the Hammond Hills area Monday morning.

Officers say a small sedan was attempting to pull out of Hammond Drive when it hit an SUV traveling eastbound on West Martintown Road.

The driver of the sedan was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Traffic was slowed for about 30 minutes while crews worked to clean up the scene.
