JENKINS COUNTY, Ga. -- The search is ongoing for a man accused of beating his girlfriend Wednesday morning.

Deputies say 20-year-old Tyrone Jeff went to his girlfriend's home and beat her. She was able to escape and got to the Sheriff's Office to report him.

When deputies went to his girlfriend's home, they say Jeff ran into the woods.

They are using K-9 teams in addition to air support from the Georgia State Patrol and are being assisted by the Millen Police Department and the Department of Natural Resources. GSP is said to be searching in the area of S. Masonic Street and Hart Avenue.

Jeff is about 5'6", weighs 175 pounds and was last seen wearing gold shorts and a white T-shirt. He is not considered to be a threat to the public.
