Manhunt leads to arrest in Barnwell

BARNWELL, S.C. (WRDW) -- The Barnwell Police Department says multiple agencies were involved in a manhunt that led to the arrest of a man accused in two burglaries in Barnwell, S.C.

SLED, the Barnwell County Sheriff's Office and the Barnwell Police Department searched for hours for 17-year-old Houston Bryant.

Officers say Bryant was hiding in the woods from 6 p.m. until about 9:30 p.m.

They say he's accused of breaking into a house and stealing around $20,000 worth of items.

Officers say he's also accused of breaking into a convenience store Tuesday night and stealing an entire shelf of lottery tickets.
