BARNWELL, S.C. -- Investigators are looking into a shooting that killed a 30-year-old male victim in Barnwell Sunday night.
Barnwell Coroner Lloyd Ward confirmed the victim was Avesta Z. Conner.
Ward said Conner was inside a car when someone else in another car shot him in the parking lot of Little Howe's Restaurant on the 8000 block of Marlboro Avenue.
Conner was driven to the hospital by a witness and later died at the hospital. The autopsy confirmed Conner died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
A vehicle was taken into custody that was parked on Marlboro Avenue.
No one is in custody for the shooting, but officers say they have a possible lead on a suspect.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has taken over the case, as Conner is from a different jurisdiction.
