Man working as barber at Augusta YDC accused of harassing inmate

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A former DJJ contract employee was arrested by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office on a charge of enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Steven Kenneth Boler, 51, resigned from the DJJ Aug. 21 while being investigated for allegedly making inappropriate solicitations to an inmate at the Augusta YDC, according to a release from the Department of Juvenile Justice.

The DJJ said the harassment complaint was made to a corrections officer on Aug. 17.

Boler was not a state employee and worked as a barber under contract, the DJJ said.

The DJJ said it teaches residents to report any sexual misconduct. It said it does not tolerate any sexual misconduct at of its facilities.
