Man who led officers on 3-day manhunt may plead guilty Monday

Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012

ALLENDALE COUNTY, S.C. -- A man who led investigators on a three-day manhunt in South Carolina may be close to accepting a plea deal for his charges.

State Solicitor Duffie Stone's office is scheduled to meet with law enforcement on Thursday to discuss Perry Sullivan's case.

It all started last August when a Stephens County, Ga., deputy was transporting Sullivan from Colleton County, S.C., back to Stephens County. They pulled over in Allendale, S.C., when the inmate claimed he was feeling ill. That's when Sullivan broke from the handcuffs and allegedly beat the deputy. He is then said to have taken the deputy's car and weapon before running off.

He was captured days later when he carjacked an SUV in Sycamore, S.C. Off-duty Williston Police Officer Joey Patsourakos happened to be in the right place at the right time and was able to arrest him.You can read the officer's story here.

The hearing for Sullivan's plea deal could come as early as next week.
