Man wanted for questioning in fatal hit-and-run

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A man is wanted for questioning in connection to a fatal hit-and-run on Mike Padgett Highway Wednesday morning.

Investigators say 35-year-old Christopher Provost lives on the 1500 block of Citation Road in Hephzibah.

Dennis John Skillman, 42, died from injuries received during the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene near Tobacco Road.

Investigators say Skillman was riding his bicycle to work and was wearing a reflective vest when he was hit from behind around 6:30 a.m.

Skillman's body was taken to the GBI Augusta Lab for an autopsy.

Deputies are looking for a red and white Dodge Ram pickup, possibly made between 2003 and 2005. The truck has damage to to the front passenger side and the passenger side mirror is missing. The truck was last seen on Mike Padgett Highway.
