GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW) -- The man ticket for firing a BB gun in his own backyard says he wants a jury to hear his case.
Grovetown Police fined 19-year-old McKenzie Ussery nearly $300 for firing three shots into a paper cup in his yard.
Ussery appeared in magistrate court Tuesday afternoon, but his case will be moved to superior court because he says he wants a jury. His next trial date has not been set at this time.
It is against the law to fire an air-powered gun within the city limits of Grovetown. The ordinance bans any guns that use compressed air to fire, which includes BB and paintball guns.
