AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- An Augusta man pleaded guilty to accusations that he killed his girlfriend's puppy after breaking the woman's nose in June.

Devonte Bogan pleaded guilty to battery, criminal trespass and aggravated cruelty to animals charges after his attorney says he snapped and killed his girl friend's puppy with a hammer.

He was sent to jail originally after he punched his girlfriend and broke her nose.

Bogan will be sent to prison for two years followed by four years of probation.
