AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- A man is accused of bringing two pipe bombs to the Kroger parking lot over the July Fourth weekend, the Aiken Department of Public Safety said.
Officers stopped Darin Mabrey for speeding and he pulled over into the Kroger parking lot off of Whiskey Road. The car was reported stolen and Mabrey was arrested, Aiken Public Safety said.
Once the car was inventoried, a suspicious package was found in the car. Mabrey was then charged with possessing a destructive device.
Mabrey later admitted to knowing about the pipe bombs in his car, Aiken Public Safety said.
