AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. -- The man accused of attempting to run over a police officer in September is now back in Aiken County.
It all started when officers were trying to pull Eddie Brockington over for speeding. After he finally pulled over, the deputy got out of the car, which is when investigators say Brockington tried to run him over before leading officers on a car chase.
The incident happened near Belvedere Elementary, putting the school on lockdown for a couple of hours.
Brockington was later found at a hotel on Claussen Road in Augusta.
He has been extradited to Aiken County, where he will be charged with attempted murder, failure to stop for blue lights, unlawful possession of a pistol, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana within a half-mile of a school.
