Man arrested for Columbia County apartment complex shooting

Deputies have arrested a man in connection with a shooting and attempted armed robbery early Monday morning.

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- Deputies have arrested a man in connection with a shooting and attempted armed robbery that happened early Monday morning, the Columbia County Sheriff's Office said.

They arrested Telon Baker, 20, Tuesday afternoon at his home, deputies said. Baker is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, commission of a crime with a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during a commission of a crime.

The shooting that injured 25-year-old Jamal Fielding happened around 12:05 a.m. Monday at the Westwood Club Apartments on Washington Road, deputies said.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office is searching for more suspects in the case.
