AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A local father is in jail after Richmond county deputies say he used his 7-year-old daughter as a lookout during a crime.

Deputies were looking for Ronald Miller since mid-November.
Authorities say Miller stole wire from a home on Laurel Lane while having his 7-year-old daughter watch for police.

Investigators believe Miller took the stripped copper wire and sold it for about $45.

He was arrested Saturday and charged with burglary and cruelty to children.
