MCDUFFIE COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- Ricky Charles Wells, the Dearing man accused of killing his ex-wife, pleaded guilty to malice murder and armed robbery in court on Friday.

The judge sentence Wells to two consecutive life terms and eligibility of parole in 60 years. Wells is 45 year old.

The judge said it was "horrific and one of the worst things he's seen in his time in the bench."

Wells’ trial was previously scheduled for Jan. 13-17 in McDuffie County.

Wells and his girlfriend, Tina Wells, are accused of shooting and dragging Jennifer Kitchens Wells, 36, to death in 2011.

The County Clerk of Court Office confirms Tina Wells has no trial date scheduled yet.

In 2012, the judge set bond for both Ricky Wells and Tina Wells at $1 million each.

The pair pleaded not guilty in March.
