AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A man accused of killing his neighbor's dog back in February has been indicted.
Richmond County deputies say Pablo Cesar Chaves shot the dog twice with a shotgun. Investigators found a chainsaw covered in blood and dog hair at the scene on Chester Avenue.
Chaves told investigators the 9-year-old Rottweiler mix was being aggressive, claiming the animal jumped his fence and attacked his family's chihuahua.
Chaves was indicted on charges of aggravated cruelty to animals and discharge of a firearm near a public roadway.
