AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) - Lucy C. Laney High School principal Tonia Mason has resigned.

Richmond County Schools human resources tells News 12 they have received a letter of resignation from Mason effective June 30.

There is an ongoing investigation into Mason involving certain educational funds. Deputy Superintendent Tim Spivey says he cannot comment on the investigation or on personnel.

Mason took over as principal of Lucy C. Laney High School in 2010.

Mason's personnel file is not available as a condition of a settlement between Mason and the Richmond County School System, a news release said.
