COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- An Evans man will be spending the next 12 years in prison for the death of a Columbia County teenager.
Lucky Wade Jackson pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and running a red light in Columbia County Superior Court Thursday morning.
The 38-year-old was driving drunk on Washington Road in September when he ran a red light at Ronald Reagan Drive and slammed into the car being driven by 19-year-old Jordan White of Martinez.
White died at the hospital.
Jackson's blood alcohol level came back at 0.281, which is well above the legal limit.
A grand jury originally indicted Jackson on charges of first-degree vehicular homicide, disregarding a traffic control device and failure to wear a seat belt.
