AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A therapy dog from Augusta has been named as the winner in the "Love Tails" contest hosted by Iams.
Brooks and her owner, Derek Underwood, will be featured in a national ad for the company.
Brooks was chosen out of over 500 submissions. Videos of the 11 finalists were posted on the Iams Facebook page, and the company asked viewers to like their favorite video to help them choose.
"Brooks and Derek have a special connection that really celebrates how pets affect our lives every day and we look forward to sharing their 'tail' across the country," said Kristine Decker, marketing director of Iams in North America, in a news release.
Brooks and Underwood visit residents at assisted living homes in the area.
"Whether I take her somewhere or someone in my family is taking her somewhere, whether it's a VA hospital, children's hospital or nursing home, she's spreading love and happiness, and she's making people feel good," said Underwood in a previous interview with News 12.
