Local company offering weatherization assistance to low-income seniors

Winter weather hit the CSRA hard, and with lower temperatures comes higher heating bills. Now a company is offering to repair or replace faulty appliances that helped those bill skyrocket.

AUGUSTA, GA (WRDW) - Winter weather hit the CSRA hard, and with lower temperatures comes higher heating bills. Now a company is offering to repair or replace some residents' faulty appliances that helped those bills skyrocket.

The CSRA Economic Opportunity Authority, Inc. is offering to repair or replace emergency gas heaters and water heaters that are defective, inoperable or unsafe units, in homes of low-income seniors.

There eligibility requirements for those residents, which include:

  • age 65 and over
  • low-income (150% of Federal Poverty Level)
  • homeowner
  • Atlanta Gas Light Company system customer
  • Counties: Columbia, Glascock, McDuffie, Richmond, Taliaferro, Warren, and Wilkes
