Augusta,Ga (WRDW)-----The Bell Auditorium will be flooded with hundreds excited to see comedian Dave Chapelle. City officials say since Global Spectrum took over they are losing less money at the James Brown Arena and Bell Auditorium.

Ticket sales for the Bell auditorium and James Brown arena are steady this year according to city officials.
"This is coming up in January 18th," said Ticket Buyer David Gotz.

David Gotz is buying tickets to the 13th Annual USCA Baseball Extra Inning bull riding show. He's a native Augustan and remembers a time when Augusta couldn't attract big names like Dave Chapelle, Mythbusters or the Blue Man Group.

"It use to be that we weren't getting any decent shows. Since Global Spectrum took over they've done a super job," he said.

"I started shortly after," said Marketing Director Katie Cason.

Global Spectrum Marketing Director Katie Cason says they've been working extra hard to keep the shows fresh.

"We've got more than one kind of person that lives in the community. So I think it's important to bring something in for everyone," said Cason.

City officials tells us they were losing almost a million a year, before global spectrum and now they're not losing as much.

"The more money that they save us now, the better they're incentive will be at the end of the year," said Coliseum Authority Board Member Cedric Johnson.

Global Spectrum could receive a bonus at the end of the year, if they're able to help the city save and possibly earn money. At this point leaders say they're just trying to break even on the two properties. So get ready to see more grade A attractions as they try and fill seats.
