Augusta,Ga---City leaders are using Masters Week to try and attract companies to Georgia. More than 30 CEO's got VIP treatment today. They're hoping their companies will relocate here.

They're also getting briefed on the area and what we have to offer. A police escort, free master tickets, and applause when you walk in the building is some kind of welcome. "You know having an event of this magnitude is in our best interest here," said Mayor Pro Tem Corey Johnson.

"We understand that if you want to continue to be current , you have to bring businesses in to make sure that happens," said Rep. Ernest Smith.

"It's not only a chance for them to go to the tournament, but also a chance to see Augusta," said Augusta Economic Authority Executive Director Walter Sprouse.

"We got Continental Airlines to come to Augusta, GA. It started with the Rec Carpet Tour. They got excited about some of the possibilities," said Smith.

The Red Carpet Tour started in Atlanta. They're stopping by Augusta National and then to Athens. On Saturday the group comes back to Augusta and the trip ends in Atlanta.

"This brings in so much economic vitality for our region. This is one of the reasons why our tax base is low," said Smith.

"This gives us the opportunity to develop those relationships and have a point of contact," said Johnson.
