Lawsuits brought against Richmond Co. Board of Education

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The Richmond County Board of Education is facing two lawsuits filed by one current and one former employee of Glenn Hills High School.
Gale Bell and Linda Lewis allege that former Glenn Hills High principal Dr. Wayne Frazier exhibited "a systematic unorthodox program of unjustified harassment" toward students and staff from 2010 to 2012.
News 12 has obtained copies of the lawsuits filed in this case.
Both lawsuits say that Dr. Frazier would yell and curse over the intercom and regularly make disparaging remarks to students and staff; sometimes in front of parents and guests. Click here to read the first lawsuit (PDF). Click here to read the second lawsuit.
Both plaintiffs also say that the environment of harassment continued, following a Culture Climate Survey that resulted in a 71 percent disapproval rating in Dr. Frazier's operation and management of the school. After this survey, the plaintiffs say they experienced "retaliation, intimidation, hostility, harassment, humiliation, trauma and degradation while at the workplace."
These lawsuits have been filed against the RCBOE and not Dr. Frazier himself because both suits allege that the BOE did nothing to correct the environment or punish Dr. Frazier in any way.
Lewis is still employed at Glenn Hills, but Bell has since moved to Lowndes County.
Frazier is the current interim principal of the alternative school at the Tubman Education Center.
