AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The commissioners will have their work cut out for them at the last commission meeting of the year on Tuesday.

Leaders could vote on an Urban Redevelopment Area plan. They'll also consider a request from the sheriff's office to use more than $300,000 for upgrades to the department.

City leaders will also decide who will fill City Administrator Fred Russell's position on a temporary basis.

Russell was fired last week with a 7 to 0 vote.

Commissioner Mary Davis tells News 12 she's been courted to run for Mayor of Augusta, but has not made a decision.

Commissioner Davis says her priority is finding a replacement for Russell.
