AUGUSTA, Ga. -- News 12 has confirmed the juvenile possibly connected to a deadly shooting in Midville last Friday will be in court for a detention hearing Tuesday afternoon.
Court authorities explain a detention hearing is not the same as a bond hearing.
The juvenile will go before Judge Willie Saunders this afternoon.
In a detention hearing, a judge determines whether to continue detaining a child who has been taken into custody or to allow him to go home for the duration of an investigation. The hearing can also determine if reasonable grounds exist to suggest the allegations against the juvenile are true.
