COLUMBIA COUNTY -- The jury in the Aaron Schmidt trial has started deliberations.
The 12 men and women got the case this morning, after closing arguments. They've been deliberating since 10 a.m.
Schmidt's attorney made a motion for jurors to consider an involuntary manslaughter conviction, but the judge denied the request.
Judge Michael Annis says the jury must decide whether Alana Calahan's death was murder or was an accident.
News 12's Katie Beasley is in the courtroom awaiting the decision. Stay tuned to News 12 and wrdw.com for the latest information.
