AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- "Come on down!"
Those were the words everyone at the Bell Auditorium wanted to hear on Sunday as "The Price is Right Live" stopped in Augusta. People lined up as early as noon for the 7 p.m. show.
'It's a sold out crowd," said Katie Wells, the Augusta Entertainment Complex director of marketing. "We couldn't be more excited to have something completely different than anything we've had before."
"The Price is Right Live" isn't the show you watch every day on CBS.
The show came right here to Augusta with a completely different host -- Jerry Springer.
"There's a lot less drama here than there is on my show," joked Springer.
Springer is no rookie when it comes to hosting a show, but even he had to admit "The Price is Right Live" is a different beast.
"Everyone who's here is totally happy," he said. "I mean, this is a fun show, it's an iconic show and it's been on forever."
There was a lot of excitement in the crowd.
Not just for its addictive games and off-the-wall prizes or outrageously fun fans, but also because it's a show that's touched many lives across the nation. And right here in this area.
"I've been watching it with my granddaddy for the last 30 years," said Brenda Newman. "He passed away in 2011 and I'm here representing him in spirit and in heart."
"Me and my grandchildren watch it everyday at 11 o'clock, then when it's over, we go swimming," said Diann Cliett.
