AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) - The man accused of rape on the Paine College campus has rejected a plea deal from the state.

The state offered Jarius Dantzler two life sentences for all of his charges. Monday, Dantzler rejected that deal.

Dantzler will now be tried three separate times starting Monday.

Monday he is facing charges stemming from February 2013 which include armed robbery and burglary. The second trial he will be facing burglary and criminal attempt to commit rape charges from 2012. The third time he will go to trial for rape and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

In Monday's charges alone, Dantzler could face a maximum of life plus 35 years.

Jury selection is underway now.
