Fatal Shooting determined to be self defense

Richmond County Investigators are searching for Anthony Hampton to question him on the overnight shooing on Hicks Street.

Augusta, Ga (WRDW) --- Richmond county deputies have determined a fatal shooting over the weekend was in self defense.

The shooting happened around 3:00am Saturday.

When authorities arrived at the scene Willie Casey Jr. had been shot.

Casey later died at the hospital.

Anthony Hampton and his mother Michelle Hampton were both questioned in the shooting--but no criminal charges will be filed.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Richmond County investigators are searching for Anthony Hampton to question him on the overnight shooing on Hicks Street.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is detaining Anthony's mother, Michelle Hampton, on an investigative hold.

Investigators are looking to interview the 17-year-old as a person of interest in the shooting death of Willie Casey Jr.

There are no current charges filed for Anthony Hampton.
