HEPHZIBAH, Ga. (WRDW) -- Richmond County Sheriff’s investigators are looking into a bank robbery on Highway 88 at Southern Bank.
Witnesses said a black man wearing wearing blue jeans or black jeans with an orange design on the back pocket came in the front door demanding "he wanted the money."
A report says he jumped over the counter, pushed a teller back, and began to take cash from a drawer and putting it in his coat.
Witnesses inside the bank say as he ran away, he left a trail of money behind him as it fell out of his coat.
Onlookers say the money continued to fall until he got in a four-door 2000 Honda Accord and drove off.
He left the scene traveling eastbound on Highway 88, the Sheriff's Office said.
There are no reports of injuries as of Friday afternoon. The suspect may have red dye on him due to the dye pack discharge, the Sheriff's Office said.
