AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A Richmond County investigator has resigned after being accused of driving under the influence in his county-issued vehicle last week.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office says Inv. Michael Dodaro turned in his letter of resignation at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

Dodaro's resignation is effective immediately and he will no longer be associated with the Sheriff's Office.
