EVANS, Ga. -- A homeowner in an Evans neighborhood says he plans to meet with a developer to discuss how thousands of dollars went missing from a homeowners association.
News 12 broke the story last week after the Stratford HOA president reported nearly $200,000 missing from the organization's bank account.
According to an incident report, President Tom Gorta told investigators $192,018 had been taken from the account starting in 2008. Gorta said the HOA's treasurer was the only person who had access to the transaction cards for the account and checks.
Detectives say the investigation is ongoing and that the HOA treasurer has been cooperative.
Neighbors discussed the meeting at a HOA meeting Wednesday night.
One person we talked to says the developer promises to meet with concerned neighbors next week.
