AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A felony arrest warrant has been issued after an accident left an 8-year-old in critical condition.

Traffic investigators secured a warrant for one felony count of serious injury by motor vehicle against Scott William Hancock.

Monday morning, deputies say the 20-year-old drove around a stopped school bus, and hit a boy who was trying to board.

A team of deputies was back on the scene Thursday morning, three days after a van hit an 8-year-old boy.

Richmond County's Specialized Accident Reconstruction Team was surveying the area at intersection of Belair Road and Asbury Place.

The boy remains in the hospital in critical condition.

Hancock is in the Richmond County jail, facing charges of reckless driving and passing a school bus while it was unloading.
