Michael Williams (WRDW-TV)
AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW) -- The driver in an Aiken County crash that killed his wife is facing more charges.
Michael Williams was driving a late model Chevy pick-up truck on East Frontage Road near Wire Road when he crossed lanes in a curve and ran off the road before 8:30 Sunday night, South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers said. The truck rolled over several times.
Officials say he is being charged with felony DUI, open container, unsafe tires and driving under suspension.
He was not wearing a seat belt at the time, according to Highway Patrol. Williams was taken to Lexington Hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
The driver's wife, Kim Williams, was the only passenger and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Aiken County Coroner said that a toxicology report is pending.
Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
