Hundreds to be hired for North Augusta Walmart

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW) -- Walmart will hire approximately 300 associates to work at the new Walmart slated to open this fall in North Augusta, a release said.

A temporary hiring center has opened at 517 Edgefield Road where applications will be accepted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Applicants can also apply online.

Through Walmart’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months and meet Walmart's standards.

According to store manager Daniel La Dow, the store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates.

The store will be on I-20 at Exit 5 in North Augusta. The location will open in late October, 2014.

The Supercenter will be approximately 158,000 square feet and will include a bakery, produce, fresh meat, fuel center and a tire center.
