HEPHZIBAH, Ga. (WRDW) -- A teenager has admitted to bringing a gun into Hephzibah High School on Feb. 4.

The 15-year-old confessed in Juvenile Court on Wednesday morning.

The student said he brought the gun inside because he was jumped at school the week before and felt unsafe. The teenager says he would have used the gun if he had been jumped again.

The teen will face up to a year in custody and 100 hours of community service with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.
