HEPHZIBAH, Ga. (WRDW) -- Children do not have any visible injuries after a school bus was involved in an accident with a tractor trailer, Dr. Carol Rountree said.

Bus number 219 from McBean Elementary School was involved in the accident at 3 p.m., she said. Some children have complained of whiplash.

The accident happened on Highway 56 at Union Cemetery Road. Rountree did not know how many children were on the bus.

The school bus was stopped to unload passengers and was struck from behind by a logging truck, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said. Minor damage occurred to both vehicles.

She said they have been trying to contact all parents of students on the bus.

The accident is still under investigation.
