HARLEM, Ga. (WRDW) -- Harlem Public Safety Officers are gearing up to patrol in the snow.

According to the Harlem Department of Public Safety's Facebook page, officers will be prepared for snowy weather with 4-wheel drive vehicles and snow chains on patrol cars to respond to calls.

The department has also set up a center for people to go if they lose power. The city will have a courtroom open at the Public Safety Building for those without heat.

Chief Gary Jones said they'll also be doing patrol checks on any elderly--particularly those on oxygen. If the power does go out, Chief Jones says they'll be able to stay at the building as well.

If anyone needs assistance call the Harlem Department of Public Safety at 706-556-6262 or 706-910-9921.
