APPLING, Ga. (WRDW) -- Georgia's Department of Agriculture has given a local animal shelter operator a deadline to get all of the animals out.
Mark Murrah says the state is giving Happy Tails owner and operator Barbara Gleitsmann until March 18 to find new homes for the animals.
At last check, Gleitsmann was caring for 38 animals. The Department of Agriculture will help to place the animals.
The department is giving her the opportunity to reopen in a year, but she'll have to reapply for a license.
In July, the state says it found more than 18 violations at the property in Appling.
