Gov. Nathan Deal extends the state of emergency for certain counties

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW)- Georgia Governor Nathan Deal extended the state of emergency for some of the hardest hit counties by the ice storm.

He extended the state of emergency until midnight on Feb. 24. The counties on that list are Baldwin, Burke, Columbia, Hancock, Jefferson, Jenkins, Johnson, Richmond, Screven and Washington counties.

Gov. Deal said he extended it because those counties still need state assistance.
